Faisal Masood et al.

Summary: This paper presents the geometric design, statistical modeling, parametric analysis, and geometric optimization of a two-dimensional low concentration symmetric compound parabolic concentrator for potential use in building-integrated and rooftop photovoltaic applications. By developing a MATLAB code and conducting a detailed statistical analysis, optimized design parameters for a truncated CPC were obtained to achieve optimum geometric dimensions. The interdependence of optical concentration ratio and acceptance half-angle was demonstrated, and the impact of truncation ratio on geometric parameters was investigated.
