The look ahead trace back optimizer for genomic selection under transparent and opaque simulators

Fatemeh Amini et al.

Summary: Recent advances in genomic selection emphasize the importance of both accuracy of genomic prediction and intelligence in selection strategies. A new variant of the look ahead approach, the look ahead trace back algorithm, is introduced along with the development of opaque simulators to evaluate GS algorithm performance more realistically. Comprehensive computational experiments using maize data reveal the interaction between GS algorithms and different simulators, highlighting the need for continued research in designing more realistic simulators.
