Identification and expression analysis of the WRKY gene family in Isatis indigotica

Renjun Qu et al.

Summary: WRKY proteins play key roles in regulating growth, development, and stress responses in plants. In this study, 64 IiWRKY genes were identified in Isatis indigotica, classified into three groups based on structure and phylogenetic relationships, and found to contain two variants of the WRKYGQK motif. Gene duplication events and distinct expression patterns in different organs and stress responses were also analyzed. These findings contribute to the understanding of stress responses in this important herb.

Integrated Signals of Jasmonates, Sugars, Cytokinins and Auxin Influence the Initial Growth of the Second Buds of Chrysanthemum after Decapitation

Daojin Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, the first third-generation transcriptome of chrysanthemum was sequenced and analyzed to investigate the factors involved in the outgrowth of the second buds after decapitation. The findings revealed that in addition to classic hormones, jasmonates and sugars are also involved in this process. A detailed model was constructed to explain the roles of hormones and sugars in the growth of the second buds after decapitation.

Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of the WRKY transcription factor family in flax (Linum usitatissimum L.)

Hongmei Yuan et al.

Summary: This study conducted comprehensive genome-wide characterization of the flax WRKY gene family, predicting 102 LuWRKY genes and classifying them into different groups based on structural and phylogenetic features. Expression profiling showed that genes associated with cellulose, hemicellulose, or lignin content were predominantly expressed in stems and roots, while stress response genes were mainly expressed in leaves.

Transcriptome analysis of differentially expressed genes in chrysanthemum MET1 RNA interference lines

Dong-ru Kang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of MET1 gene silencing on gene expression profile in Chrysanthemum x morifolium 'Zijingling', revealing significant changes in differentially expressed genes related to essential plant biological processes. While a sufficient number of candidate genes associated with flowering were identified, the overall number of genes with significant differences between transgenic and control lines was relatively low. This study sheds light on the transcriptional level interference of CmMET1 on chrysanthemum growth and development, providing a basis for further research on epigenetic regulation mechanisms in flower induction and development.
