Distinct ecological habits and habitat responses to future climate change in three east and southeast Asian Sapindus species

Jiming Liu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the habitat distribution of the important tree species Sapindus and its response to climate change in Asia. The study found that precipitation played a key role in shaping the distribution of Sapindus habitats. Under future climate change scenarios, the habitats of Sapindus were predicted to expand or contract depending on the species and location. Additionally, different species of Sapindus exhibited distinct ecological habits in East and Southeast Asia.

Screening of Sapindus germplasm resources in China based on agro-morphological traits

Jiming Liu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated and screened 30 elite accessions for oil and saponin production out of 149 nationwide Sapindus species. Among these, three accessions showed significant potential for high yields. The findings will facilitate the identification of genetic determinants of valuable traits and the effective utilization of trait variability in Sapindus breeding.

Biogeographic divergence in leaf traits ofSapindus mukorossiandSapindus delavayiand its relation to climate

Xin Wang et al.

Summary: The study explored leaf morphology differences between Sapindus mukorossi and Sapindus delavayi, revealing wide variation and diversity in 16 germplasm traits within and between species. Intraspecific variability played a more significant role in total variability than interspecific variability. Differences in leaflet traits were influenced by environmental factors, with S. mukorossi showing greater sensitivity to climate variations. This research contributes to understanding leaf morphology variations and the impact of climate change on these two Sapindus species.

Genetic Structure and Core Collection of Olive Germplasm from Albania Revealed by Microsatellite Markers

Aida Dervishi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the genetic diversity and structure of Albanian olive germplasm using 26 microsatellite markers. The findings revealed that Albanian olive germplasm is a unique gene pool and provides an interesting genetic basis for breeding programs. A core collection of 57 genotypes representing all allelic richness found in Albanian germplasm was developed for the first time.

Choline-based deep eutectic solvent combined with EDTA-2Na as novel soil washing agent for lead removal in contaminated soil

Kaiyou Huang et al.

Summary: Lead-contaminated soil was cleaned using EDTA-2Na and DES, achieving up to 95.79% lead removal under specific conditions. Hydrogen bonds and EDTA-2Na may play a key role in the washing agent for remediation of lead-contaminated soil.
