Pseudomonas allii sp. nov., a pathogen causing soft rot of onion in Japan

Hiroyuki Sawada et al.

Summary: Six phytopathogenic bacterial strains were isolated from soft rot lesions of onion in Japan, identified as a novel Pseudomonas species named Pseudomonas allii. They show differences from their closest relatives in phenotypic characteristics, pathogenicity, and cellular fatty acid composition.
