Magnetothermal properties of Ho1_xDyxAl2 (x=0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.25 and 0.50) compounds

P. O. Ribeiro et al.

Summary: The study compared the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Ho1_xDyxAl2 compounds with experimental results by adjusting the exchange interactions between ions and demonstrated that using the average of multiple magnetic field directions can reproduce the heat capacity of polycrystalline materials satisfactorily. Additionally, reasonably good agreement between experimentally determined and theoretically predicted magnetocaloric effects can be achieved by considering an average of only three field directions.

Controlling magnetostructural transition and magnetocaloric effect in multi-component transition-metal-based materials

Summary: Proper coupling between structural and magnetic transitions is crucial for controlling and improving the magnetocaloric properties of alloys. Chemical substitutions have been demonstrated to effectively control the magnetocaloric properties of Mn0.5Fe0.5NiSi0.94Al0.06 alloy, with B doping leading to one of the highest magnetic-field-induced entropy changes near room temperature.

Large magnetic entropy change in Nd2In near the boiling temperature of natural gas

Wei Liu et al.

Summary: Natural gas liquefaction is essential for meeting increasing demands, and magnetocaloric gas liquefaction is an energy-saving alternative with promising properties for practical applications. The large magnetic entropy change and fully reversible adiabatic temperature change in Nd2In make it a suitable material for designing magnetocaloric natural gas liquefaction systems.
