A highly regio- and stereoselective synthesis of the core skeleton of hexahydrobenzo[c]phenanthridine-type alkaloids using Co(acac)(2) at room temperature is reported. The reaction shows compatibility for a wide range of substrates and provides good to excellent yield of products.
We report a highly regio- and stereoselective synthesis of the core skeleton of hexahydrobenzo[c]phenanthridine-type alkaloids at room temperature using Co(acac)(2). The reaction is compatible for a wide range of substrates and also provides good to excellent yield of products.
