Enhancement of morphological and emission stability of deep-blue small molecular emitter via a universal side-chain coupling strategy for optoelectronic device

Ning Sun et al.

Summary: This research presents a side-chain coupling strategy to improve the film morphology and emission stability of solution-processable small molecular deep-blue emitters. By introducing crosslinkable styryl and vinyl units at the side-chain, the resulting films exhibit relatively stable morphology and uniform deep-blue emission.

Spherulite-Like Micelles

Shaofei Song et al.

Summary: By crystallization-driven self-assembly, a BCP containing an amphiphilic ferrocenyldimethylsilane can form 3D structures similar to spherulites in decane, with externally spherical symmetry but asymmetric core structure consisting of sheaf-like leaves. The amount of added unimer determines the growth stoppage at different stages of the seeded growth experiment.

Organic Semiconductor Micro/Nanocrystals for Laser Applications

Javier Alvarez-Conde et al.

Summary: Organic semiconductor micro/nanocrystals (OSMCs) have gained significant attention for their advantages such as lack of grain boundaries, minimal defects, molecular diversity, low cost, flexibility, and solution processability, making them strong contenders for the next generation of electronic and optoelectronic devices. Research in this area has focused on molecular packing, methods for controlling crystallization, and applications in organic solid-state lasers, with particular emphasis on OSMC lasers that self-assemble into geometrically defined optical resonators for tuning light emission properties through resonator design. The review also highlights the latest developments and novel strategies for tuning light emission and improving light extraction efficiency.

Diarylfluorene-Based Organic Semiconductor Materials toward Optoelectronic Applications

Yamin Han et al.

Summary: Modular production is an efficient strategy for the mass production and precise regulation of the photoelectrical properties of conjugated materials. Diarylfluorene-based conjugated materials have undergone significant development in low-cost optoelectronic devices due to their easy chemical modification, tunable electronic structure, and high photoluminescence quantum yield.

Long-Range Ordered Hierarchical Structure Assisted by the Side-Oligoether Network in Light-Emitting Conjugated Polymer for an Efficient Deep-Blue Organic Laser

Xiang An et al.

Summary: In this study, a deep-blue lasing was achieved by uniformly packed nanowires in a robust emissive spherulite of deep-blue LCPs with flexible oligoether. The enhanced emission efficiency and stability were mainly attributed to the suppression of physical defect formation and enhancement of exciton diffusion in the uniformly packed nanowires. The long-range ordered hierarchical structure provided an excellent optical cavity for achieving low-threshold deep-blue lasing behavior.

Diarylfluorene Flexible Pendant Functionalization of Polystyrene for Efficient and Stable Deep-Blue Polymer Light-Emitting Diodes

Ning Sun et al.

Summary: This study proposes a flexible-pendant-functionalization strategy to prepare a deep-blue emitting polymer material that maintains stability and high luminescence even after thermal treatment at 180 degrees Celsius in air. The dense and flexible interchain entanglement in the polymer helps disperse molecules and prevent external gas permeation, resulting in stable emission in the solid-state.
