Land space optimization of urban-agriculture-ecological functions in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Urban Agglomeration, China

Summary: Evaluating urban-agriculture-ecological space and delineating the ecological security pattern are crucial for optimizing land space and socio-economic development. This study used various models to simulate the trends of urban development space, ecological space, and urban agricultural space in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration under different development scenarios. The results showed that socio-economic variables and spillover effects were the main factors influencing land space expansion, and the urban construction space and growth boundaries varied across scenarios.

Evaluation of NPP using three models compared with MODIS-NPP data over China

Summary: Estimating net primary productivity (NPP) plays a significant role in global climate change research and carbon cycle. This study compared the performance of three different NPP models and found that the CASA model outperformed the others in terms of RB, RMSE, NSE, and CC on both national and regional scales. The synthetic model and CASA model showed similar advantages in certain regions with lower RMSE values.

Evaluating the grassland NPP dynamics in response to climate change in Tanzania

Impact of Land Use and Land Cover Changes on Urban Ecosystem Service Value in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Summary: Urban ecosystem services play a crucial role in sustaining life and addressing challenges like climate change and pollution. This study examined the land use dynamics in Dhaka over the past three decades and found that as built-up areas increased, ecosystem services value decreased by 59.55%, with water bodies being the largest contributor. The findings suggest that even a small change in land use could have a significant impact on total ecosystem services value.
