Emergency response to the reactivated Aniangzhai landslide resulting from a rainstorm-triggered debris flow, Sichuan Province, China

Bo Zhao et al.

Summary: An unexpected rainstorm on June 17, 2020 triggered a debris flow and reactivated an ancient landslide in the Meilong valley of Danba County, Sichuan Province, China, with an area of 0.62 km(2). Emergency monitoring over 20 days showed that the reactivated deposit entered a constant deformation state.

On the applicability of satellite SAR interferometry to landslide hazards detection in hilly areas: a case study of Shuicheng, Guizhou in Southwest China

Yian Wang et al.

Summary: This study proposed an approach of landslide detection and mapping with a priori assessment of InSAR applicability, which effectively guided the selection of SAR data, predicted observable areas, analyzed the reliability of landslide detection, and revealed reasons for detection failure.

Integration of Sentinel-1 and ALOS/PALSAR-2 SAR datasets for mapping active landslides along the Jinsha River corridor, China

Xiaojie Liu et al.

Summary: Active landslides along the Jinsha River corridor pose serious threats and attract widespread attention due to their large scale, number, and potential disaster chain characteristics. Conventional InSAR-based methods face challenges in mapping landslides efficiently in this region, leading to the development of a new procedure integrating surface deformation and geomorphological features for large-area landslide mapping.

UAV photogrammetry-based remote sensing and preliminary assessment of the behavior of a landslide in Guizhou, China

Zhan Cheng et al.

Summary: The UAV photogrammetry technique is widely used in geohazards assessment, demonstrated through a case study of a landslide in Guizhou, China which revealed the failure mechanism and evolution behavior. An automatic crack recognition model based on deep learning is developed to map cracks at the landslide site and validate through quantitative comparisons. The UAV images aid in identifying elements at risk and conducting a preliminary consequence assessment in potentially impacted zones.
