Long-Term Outcomes of Service Women Injured on Combat Deployment

Jessica R. Watrous et al.

Summary: The study on service women injured on deployment showed that about half of them screened positive for a mental health condition, and displayed risky health behaviors including problematic drinking, poor sleep, and physical inactivity. Many of the mental and behavioral health variables demonstrated statistically significant associations with each other, supporting the relationships between psychological health and behaviors.

Physical Activity Monitoring Using a Fitbit Device in Ischemic Stroke Patients: Prospective Cohort Feasibility Study

Irene Katzan et al.

Summary: The study found that using consumer-grade Fitbit Charge HR monitors in patients with recent mild stroke is feasible with reasonable adherence and accuracy. However, there was poor correlation between step counts and gait speed, balance, and endurance in stroke patients. Further research is needed to explore the association between step counts and other relevant outcomes in stroke patients.
