Dietary isoflavones intake is inversely associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, hyperlipidaemia and hypertension

Xuemei Wang et al.

Summary: Total isoflavones, daidzein, and genistein intake were found to be inversely associated with NAFLD, hyperlipidaemia, and hypertension. Glycitein was inversely associated with hyperlipidaemia and hypertension.

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD): Pathogenesis and Noninvasive Diagnosis

Vicneswarry Dorairaj et al.

Summary: The global prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or metabolic associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is increasing, necessitating the search for alternative techniques or tools for accurate diagnosis. Early detection is important because nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a marker for severe disease progression. This review summarizes the current noninvasive tools for NAFLD diagnosis and their performance, as well as discussing potential and newer alternative tools for diagnosing NAFLD.

Hypocholesterolemic Efficacy of Secoisolariciresinol Diglucoside and Its Polymer in Rat

Summary: The study results suggest that both enriched SDG and SDG polymer treatments in rats showed potential in reducing body weight, liver weight, serum triacylglycerol, and increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Histopathologic analyses indicated lipid-lowering effects of both treatments, with SDG polymer potentially serving as a cost-effective alternative to enriched SDG for hypercholesterolemia with similar efficacy.
