Toxicity reduction of persistent pollutants through the photo-fenton process and radiation/H2O2 using different sources of radiation and neutral pH

Ramiro Picoli Nippes et al.

Summary: The presence of toxic compounds in aquatic bodies raises concerns. The Fenton, photo-Fenton, and radiation/H2O2 processes show potential in remediation due to their efficiency. Different processes show varying efficiencies in degrading specific compounds, with diazepam showing more resistance.

Enhanced photocatalytic performance under solar radiation of ZnO through hetero-junction with iron functionalized zeolite

Ramiro Picoli Nippes et al.

Summary: The study focused on producing a photocatalyst with ZnO supported on functionalized NaY zeolite using a simple and cost-effective method. The photocatalyst showed excellent performance under solar radiation, with a removal rate of 84.65% for the herbicide 2,4-D and decreased post-treatment effluent toxicity.

Synthesis and Application of Fe-Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles for Photodegradation of 2,4-D from Aqueous Solution

Roya Ebrahimi et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the photocatalytic degradation of 2,4-D from aqueous solution using Fe-doped TiO2 nanoparticles under UV and sunlight irradiation. The results showed that increasing nanoparticle dosage could enhance the degradation efficiency of 2,4-D, while increasing initial concentration of 2,4-D and initial pH could decrease the degradation efficiency.
