Risk-of-bias VISualization (robvis): An R package and Shiny web app for visualizing risk-of-bias assessments

Luke A. McGuinness et al.

Summary: Despite the availability of numerous software options for evidence synthesis, there is currently no universal tool for generating figures to display and explore risk-of-bias assessments. However, tools such as the R programming environment and Shiny have made it easy to create new tools for producing evidence syntheses. The new tool robvis facilitates the rapid production of publication-quality risk-of-bias assessment figures and is available as an R package and web app.

The role of aircraft noise annoyance and noise sensitivity in the association between aircraft noise levels and medication use: results of a pooled-analysis from seven European countries

Clemence Baudin et al.

Summary: This study found a significant association between aircraft noise levels at night and antihypertensive medication in the UK. Aircraft noise annoyance was significantly associated with the use of various medications, while noise sensitivity was significantly associated with almost all medications. The results also suggested a mediating role of aircraft noise annoyance and a modifying role of both aircraft noise annoyance and noise sensitivity in the association between aircraft noise levels and medication use.

Summary: This study found that high noise sensitivity is associated with lower risk of ischemic heart disease mortality, road traffic noise exposure is related to psychological ill-health, and noise sensitivity moderates this association.

The Effect of an Alternative Definition of Percent Highly Annoyed on the Exposure-Response Relationship: Comparison of Noise Annoyance Responses Measured by ICBEN 5-Point Verbal and 11-Point Numerical Scales

Makoto Morinaga et al.

Summary: The study compared annoyance responses measured by the 5-point verbal and 11-point numerical scales, finding that the L-den value corresponding to the 5-point verbal scale was approximately 5 dB lower than that of the 11-point numerical scale.
