Hyal2 Expression in Tumor-Associated Myeloid Cells Mediates Cancer-Related Inflammation in Bladder Cancer

Paul R. Dominguez Gutierrez et al.

Summary: This study identifies Hyal2-expressing tumor-associated myeloid cells of monocyte-macrophage lineage as contributors to hyaluronan degradation in bladder cancer tissue, leading to accumulation of inflammatory and proangiogenic low molecular weight hyaluronan fragments.

Mammal hyaluronidase activity on chondroitin sulfate and dermatan sulfate: Mass spectrometry analysis of oligosaccharide products

Melanie Bilong et al.

Summary: Mammalian hyaluronidases play a role in the catabolism of chondroitin sulfate, producing a wide range of oligosaccharides from CS-A and CS-C. Structural investigation using mass spectrometry reveals selective glycosidic bond cleavage catalyzed by mammalian hyaluronidase, supporting its role in CS metabolism. Additionally, differences in oligosaccharide distribution between CS-A and CS-C digestion mixtures have been observed.
