Placebo effect of rTMS on post-stroke motor rehabilitation: a meta-analysis

Yu Jin et al.

Summary: The placebo repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has a medium but significant effect on post-stroke motor recovery, with the number of stimulation sessions influencing the effect. Sham rTMS groups showed gradual improvement during follow-up, but with lower amplitude compared to the real group.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation as an alternative therapy for stroke with spasticity: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Peng Xu et al.

Summary: The meta-analysis did not find a significant reduction in the Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) for post-stroke spasticity patients with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) compared to sham treatment. However, a significant effect of rTMS was observed in the change score analysis within the treatment groups, indicating potential benefits. No significant placebo effect was observed in the sham treatment groups.

Mirror therapy simultaneously combined with electrical stimulation for upper limb motor function recovery after stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Alberto Saavedra-Garcia et al.

Summary: The current evidence on the effectiveness of simultaneous combination of mirror therapy and electrical stimulation in the recovery of upper limb motor function after stroke is lacking. Further high-quality and well-designed research is needed to determine the efficacy of this combined therapy.

Endotoxinemia Accelerates Atherosclerosis Through Electrostatic Charge-Mediated Monocyte Adhesion

Ariane Schumski et al.

Summary: Acute infection increases the risk of cardiovascular complications, with lipopolysaccharide playing a role in accelerating vascular inflammation through the activation of circulating immune cells. Histone H2a associated with NETs is shown to mediate charge-dependent monocyte adhesion and accelerate atherosclerosis during endotoxinemia.

Aidi injection combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer patients: a systematic review of systematic reviews and meta-analyses

Dehua Zhao et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Aidi injection combined with chemotherapy in cancer patients through systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The results showed that the methodological quality of the included studies was critically low and the evidence quality was rated as low or very low. Current evidence is insufficient to support or refute the use of Aidi in cancer treatment, highlighting the need for high-quality trials with large sample sizes.
