Contact Separation Triboelectric Nanogenerator Based Neural Interfacing for Effective Sciatic Nerve Restoration

Mi Zhou et al.

Summary: Peripheral nerve injuries are a common cause of permanent disabilities, and therapeutic electrical stimulation has been widely used for neural regeneration. However, current electrical stimulation strategies are insufficient for complete nerve repair. In this study, researchers developed an implanted nerve stimulation system that generates electric pulses in response to movement, and observed neural function restoration through gait and histological analysis.

Fei Jin et al.

Summary: A fully implantable neural electrical stimulation (FI-NES) system has been developed, providing a physiologically adaptive function for promoting the recovery of peripheral nerve injury (PNI) with highly self-responsive parameters derived from the body itself. The system shows significant results in accelerating PNI recovery and is also suitable for other tissue injuries or neurodegenerative diseases.

Magnetic Assembly of a Multifunctional Guidance Conduit for Peripheral Nerve Repair

Merav Antman-Passig et al.

Summary: Nerve growth conduits play a crucial role in supporting and promoting axon regeneration following nerve injuries. A biomimetic regenerative gel enriched with magnetic nanoparticles coated with nerve growth factor has been developed, showing promising effects on enhancing nerve regeneration in in vivo rat models. The magnet-based therapeutic conduits demonstrate oriented and directed axonal growth, providing a novel therapeutic approach to overcoming current medical obstacles for nerve injuries.

Two-Dimensional-Germanium Phosphide-Reinforced Conductive and Biodegradable Hydrogel Scaffolds Enhance Spinal Cord Injury Repair

Chao Xu et al.

Summary: Integrating conductive and biodegradable germanium phosphide (GeP) nanosheets into an injectable hydrogel matrix has been successfully applied for spinal cord injury (SCI) repair, significantly improving the conductivity of the hydrogel and accelerating the differentiation of neural stem cells. In a rat SCI complete transection model, implantation of HA-DA/GeP@PDA hydrogel significantly enhanced locomotor function recovery and promoted immune regulation, endogenous angiogenesis, and endogenous NSC neurogenesis in the lesion area.
