Adamantane Functionalized Poly(2-oxazoline)s with Broadly Tunable LCST-Behavior by Molecular Recognition

Joachim F. R. Van Guyse et al.

Summary: The synthesis of a polymer with a specific responsive temperature range was achieved in this study, allowing for fine-tuning of its adaptive behavior through molecular recognition. By complexing with cyclodextrins, a temperature-sensitive phase transition process was successfully implemented with high reversibility and precision.

Structural Insights into Polymethacrylamide-Based LCST Polymers in Solution: A Small-Angle Neutron Scattering Study

Arne Lerch et al.

Summary: Copolymerization is a powerful method that offers access to new polymer materials with tailored responses to external stimuli. In this study, the phase transition of polymers in heavy water was studied using small-angle neutron scattering. The results showed that interchain interactions are present below the cloud point, while polymer-polymer interactions become more prominent above the cloud point.

Controlling properties of thermogels by tuning critical solution behaviour of ternary copolymers†

Anton A. A. Smith et al.

Summary: The properties of thermogelling tri-block copolymers can be tuned by altering the random terpolymer compositions, allowing for controlled modulation of thermogel properties. By controlling the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of the pendant blocks, the heterogeneity of the pendant terpolymer blocks can be reflected in the concentration dependence of their critical solution behavior.
