Escherichia coli Heat-Labile Enterotoxin B Subunit Combined with Ginsenoside Rg1 as an Intranasal Adjuvant Triggers Type I Interferon Signaling Pathway and Enhances Adaptive Immune Responses to an Inactivated PRRSV Vaccine in ICR Mice

Fei Su et al.

Summary: Combining Escherichia coli heat-labile enterotoxin B subunit (LTB) and ginsenoside Rg1 as an intranasal adjuvant with an inactivated PRRSV vaccine significantly enhanced immune responses in mice, including higher levels of antibody responses, increased T and B lymphocyte proliferation, and enhanced immune cell activity. The combination adjuvant also balanced Th1/Th2/Th17 responses and up-regulated type I interferon signaling, potentially improving adaptive immune responses. Further evaluation of this combined adjuvant in swine is needed to confirm its efficacy.
