Disparities in Meeting USPSTF Breast, Cervical, and Colorectal Cancer Screening Guidelines Among Women in the United States

Summary: The study found that overall more than 70% of women met US Preventive Services Task Force guidelines for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening. Non-Hispanic Black women had a higher prevalence of meeting screening guidelines than Non-Hispanic White women across all types of cancer screening. Lack of health insurance was associated with lower screening prevalence, as well as lower household income. Women living in rural counties had a lower prevalence of colorectal cancer screening compared to women in metropolitan counties.

Cancer Incidence Projections in the United States Between 2015 and 2050

Summary: The number of adults entering the age groups at greatest risk for cancer diagnosis is increasing. By 2050, cancer incidence rates are projected to stabilize in women and decrease in men, while the annual number of cancer cases is expected to increase by 49%, with the largest percentage increase among adults aged 75 years and older. Efforts to reduce cancer risk are needed to address these trends.
