An emended description of Astragalus nigriceps is provided, with detailed information on its morphological characteristics including the floral and fruit features. Additionally, this study reports a new record of this species in the flora of Iran and provides descriptions of its ecology, biogeography, and conservation status.
An emended description of Astragalus nigriceps is provided with illustrations and information on several morphological characters not indicated in the protologue but necessary for identification, including the size of stipule, leaflet, peduncle, bract, calyx, petals, fruit, and also characteristics of raceme and pistil. This species is a new record for the flora of Iran. A detailed description, ecology and biogeography of the species are given along with conservation status of the species.
