Rheological studies on polymer networks with static and dynamic crosslinks

Takuya Katashima

Summary: The rheological properties of polymer networks are strongly influenced by two types of crosslink structures - static and dynamic. The understanding of the molecular origin of these properties remains incomplete. Studies on static networks reveal cross-effects of strains in different directions even in networks without defects. Meanwhile, investigations on dynamic networks show that conventional molecular models are not suitable for describing their rheological properties.
