Highly efficient and thermally stable Eu3+ activated phosphate based phosphors for wLEDs: An experimental and DFT study

Mohan Lal Meena et al.

Summary: Europium ions-activated alkali-alkaline phosphate phosphors with sharp red-light emission were successfully designed using a compositional ternary phase diagram. The synthesized phosphors showed narrow red light emissions and high internal quantum yield, making them suitable for white LEDs.

Eu3+ incorporated Bi4MgO4(PO4)2: Derivation of the novel nanophosphor by solution combustion and investigation in to crystallographic and photometric characteristics

Priya Phogat et al.

Summary: A bright red color emitting novel nanophosphor series is synthesized by incorporating trivalent europium ions into Bi4MgO(4)(PO4)(2) host lattice through urea assisted solution combustion synthesis. The nanophosphor exhibits remarkable structural and opto-electronic properties, making it a potential candidate for solid state lighting and imaging applications.

A comparative study of a tunable body-centered cubic (I) red-emitting nanophosphor for warm WLED applications

Sanjeeb Limbu et al.

Summary: In this study, red-emitting nanophosphors activated by rare earth elements were successfully synthesized and their structural and optical characteristics were investigated. The results showed that the addition of Li+ ions significantly increased the emission intensity and tuned the spectra to the red region, making them suitable for the fabrication of warm white LEDs.

Strong f-f excitation in titanium silicate: Near-UV LED pumped red phosphors with outstanding temperature sensitivity

Jianyan Ding et al.

Summary: A series of Sr2TiSi2O8: Eu3+ red phosphors were developed with intense red light emission when excited by NUV LED due to noninversion symmetry coordination of Eu3+ in Sr2TiSi2O8. The emission intensity of Sr2TiSi2O8: Eu3+ is highly sensitive to temperature, making it a potential temperature sensing material.

Red luminescence with controlled rise time in La2MgTiO6: Eu3+

B. Bondzior et al.

Summary: La2MgTiO6 (LMT) doped with Eu3+ ions was successfully prepared for the first time using the co-precipitation method. The luminescence of Eu3+ is sensitive to excitation modes and temperatures, showing strong thermal sensitivity. The TiO6 groups also contribute to the optical activity of the material, playing an important role in its luminescent properties.

Method to Measure the Degree of Reduction of Eu3+ to Eu2+: How Anion and Cation Vacancies Influence the Degree of Reduction

Przemyslaw J. Deren et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the reduction degree of Eu3+ to Eu2+ and quantum efficiency of Eu2+ emission, revealing the impact of defects such as calcium and oxygen vacancies on the reduction process. By studying samples synthesized in sol-gel and solid-state, and identifying defects using IR measurements, a new method based on magnetic measurements is proposed.

Jianwen Zhao et al.

Summary: A series of CNP:xEu(3+) phosphors were prepared with different Eu(3+) doping concentrations, among which CNP:0.3Eu(3+) showed the best luminescent performance and high color purity. The WLED fabricated with this phosphor exhibited a medium correlated color temperature and a high Ra value.

Narrow-band red phosphors of high colour purity based on Eu3+-activated apatite-type Gd9.33(SiO4)6O2

Melissa M. Rodriguez-Garcia et al.

Summary: A series of new red phosphors based on apatite-type gadolinium silicate host have been synthesised and analysed, showing excellent chemical and thermal stability. These phosphors exhibit efficient Eu3+ narrow-band red emission with exceptional colour purity and can be heavily doped with Eu3+ without concentration quenching of the emission. The structural properties of the apatite-type host were found to have a favorable influence on the efficiency and thermal stability of the emission.
