Predictive factors of women's subjective perception of childbirth experience: a systematic review of the literature

Margaux Chabbert et al.

Summary: This systematic review explores and identifies risk and protective factors for women's subjective childbirth experience and birth satisfaction based on original research. The main risk factors are obstetric, such as emergency caesarian and highly perceived labor pain, while the main protective factors include highly perceived control during labor or satisfaction regarding partner's support. Overall results are inconclusive due to methodological or conceptual reasons.
