The profile of Rafsanjan Cohort Study

Hamid Hakimi et al.

Summary: Rafsanjan is a unique city in Iran, known for its large human-made pistachio jungle and the second largest copper mine, as well as its location on the opium trade route. Concerns about health outcomes in this city led to the initiation of the Rafsanjan Cohort Study, which revealed a concerning prevalence of non-communicable disease risk factors. Further investigations and interventions are needed to address these health issues.
