Evaluation of Cerebral Tissue Oximeters Using Multilayered Dynamic Head Models

Meltem Izzetoglu et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the performance of multiple commercially available CTO devices using realistic and dynamic multilayer mixed solid and liquid phantom design with controlled and repeatable test procedures. Results indicated that the CTO devices were very precise and highly correlated, but showed varying levels of accuracy, sensitivity, static, and proportional bias under continuously changing oxygen saturation conditions. The Gauge R&R analysis showed that most CTO devices were within acceptable ranges with good precision and reproducibility.
