Whole brain dynamics during optogenetic self-stimulation of the medial prefrontal cortex in mice

Christopher G. Cover et al.

Summary: Researchers have developed a method that allows functional MRI of brain dynamics in mice while they perform an operant task of licking a spout to receive optogenetic stimulation to the medial prefrontal cortex. This noninvasive whole brain readout technique combined with circuit-specific neuromodulation provides a new approach to studying adaptive behavior in mice.
