Optical encryption using phase modulation generated by thermal lens effect

Summary: In this paper, we implemented an experimental optical encryption configuration in the Fresnel domain using the thermal lens effect. We performed encryption and decryption procedures to test the basic performance of the system and tested the tolerance of decryption to different modulations induced by the phase generated due to the thermal lens effect. We also proposed an undercover procedure to protect the target information and analyzed its resistance to attacks.
