General self-efficacy and social support as mediators of the association between perceived stress and quality of life among rural women with previous gestational diabetes mellitus

Qing Long et al.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between perceived stress, quality of life (QoL), general self-efficacy, and social support among women with previous gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The findings suggest that perceived stress negatively impacts QoL, but this effect can be mediated by better social support or general self-efficacy. Healthcare providers should focus on enhancing self-efficacy and social support to improve QoL and reduce the negative impact of perceived stress on women with previous GDM.
