The influence of cementite spheroidizing duration on the microstructure and sliding wear response of grey cast iron against AISI 4330

Ronnie G. Woodward et al.

Summary: The study investigated the sliding wear properties of G350 grey cast iron following different spheroidizing annealing durations. Most testing combinations resulted in mild wear, but severe wear was observed at the highest load and longest annealing times. Depth of subsurface deformation increased with annealing time, with load only affecting the depth by causing spallation of the affected surface layer at higher loads.

The Influence of Load on Dry and Tribocorrosive Sliding of AISI 4330 and 15-5PH against Cast Iron

Ronnie G. Woodward et al.

Summary: Environmental conditions, testing variables, and material properties significantly influence the sliding wear behavior of all tribosystems. AISI 4330 and 15-5PH discs produced higher volume losses in the dry regime than in the NaCl regime, showing that the solution had a beneficial effect against the dry tribosystem.
