Separation of the Impact of Landuse/Landcover Change and Climate Change on Runoff in the Upstream Area of the Yangtze River, China

Naveed Ahmed et al.

Summary: The study found that climate change has a more significant impact on streamflow in the catchment area, while landuse/landcover change has a relatively smaller impact. Changes in evapotranspiration due to climate change are larger, especially from August to October.

Runoff Simulation Under Future Climate Change Conditions: Performance Comparison of Data-Mining Algorithms and Conceptual Models

Icen Yoosefdoost et al.

Summary: This study simulated input runoff to a dam reservoir in an arid region under changing climatic conditions using three data-mining algorithms and a conceptual model. The SVM model showed remarkable performance in runoff simulations compared to other models. The study also predicted a decrease in mean runoff input for the future period, highlighting the need for sustainable adaptation strategies.

Streamflow Prediction Upstream of a Dam Using SWAT and Assessment of the Impact of Land Use Spatial Resolution on Model Performance

Wafae El Harraki et al.

Summary: This study examined the sensitivity of the SWAT model to the spatial resolution of land use data and found that applying finer resolution data did not necessarily enhance the accuracy of streamflow assessment. The performance of the two models in terms of statistical coefficients and graphical evaluation was satisfactory, indicating that the accuracy of streamflow prediction was not directly related to the increase in the number of delineated HRUs.

Climate Trends in Temperature and Water Variables during Wheat Growing Season and Impact on Yield

Anand Madhukar et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the impact of varying climate trends on wheat yields in India from 1986 to 2015, finding that most climate variables are negatively affecting wheat yields. The trends in maximum temperature, mean temperature, minimum temperature, vapor pressure deficit, and potential evapotranspiration are increasing in most Indian states, while variables like wet day frequency and vapor pressure are decreasing. Regression modeling explains up to 80% of wheat yield variability and highlights the importance of timely intervention in agricultural practices.

Streamflow Variations in Monthly, Seasonal, Annual and Extreme Values Using Mann-Kendall, Spearmen's Rho and Innovative Trend Analysis

Muhammad S. Ashraf et al.

Summary: This study investigates variations in streamflow at 20 stations in the upper Indus river basin using different methods, finding that extremely low flows are increasing more significantly than extremely high flows. This may lead to constant pressure on water resources availability in the lower Indus plains where agricultural activities are dependent.

Future Changes in Water Availability Due to Climate Change Projections for Huong Basin, Vietnam

Quan Dau et al.

Summary: This study evaluates water availability in the Huong River Basin in Central Vietnam under the impacts of climate and population changes. Results show that future temperatures will rise and annual rainfall will increase, potentially leading to water shortages in the 2080s if population growth is taken into consideration.
