Mechanical Performance of glass/epoxy composites enhanced by micro- and nanosized aluminum particles

M. Megahed et al.

Summary: The effects of incorporating nanometer and micrometer-sized aluminum particles in glass fiber reinforcement epoxy composites were studied, resulting in significant improvements in mechanical properties such as tensile, flexural, hardness, wear, and impact behavior. The addition of aluminum particles showed enhancements in different properties, with a reversal of improvement trend observed at higher nanometer-sized aluminum particle loading levels. Microscopy results indicated good dispersion of aluminum particles in the epoxy matrix, with some agglomeration at higher nano-aluminum weight fractions.

Synthesis of magnetic tungsten disulfide/carbon nanotubes nanocomposite (WS2/Fe3O4/CNTs-NC) for highly efficient ultrasound-assisted rapid removal of amaranth and brilliant blue FCF hazardous dyes

Payam Arabkhani et al.

Summary: The magnetic tungsten disulfide/carbon nanotubes nanocomposite showed high efficiency in the ultrasound-assisted removal of dyes, with maximum adsorption capacities of 174.8 mg g-1 and 166.7 mg g-1 for AM and BB FCF, respectively. The adsorption process was described by Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic models, with thermodynamic study indicating endothermic and spontaneous adsorption of dyes.

Summary: This study successfully prepared a novel adsorbent PEI-CaAlg with high adsorption capacity for dyes and phosphate from real textile wastewater. The adsorption process followed Freundlich isotherm and the second-order model, and was determined to be feasible and spontaneous in nature. PEI-CaAlg showed good reusability and high removal efficiencies for both color and phosphate ions.
