Intrauterine fetoscopic laser surgery versus expectant management in stage 1 twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome: an international randomized trial

Summary: A multicentric randomized trial comparing immediate surgery and expectant follow-up for stage 1 twin-twin transfusion syndrome found that expectant management may be a reasonable choice for asymptomatic pregnant women, but 60% of cases may progress and require rapid transfer to a surgical center.
