MRI-based gene reporters can image gene expression at depth and high resolution, and may be translated to clinical applications. They exploit either endogenous contrast mechanisms or modulate the response to an introduced exogenous contrast agent.
MRI-based gene reporters allow imaging of gene expression at depth (tens of centimetres) and at relatively high resolution (similar to 10-100 mu m) and have the potential to be translated to the clinic. The reporters exploit either endogenous contrast mechanisms or they modulate the response to an introduced exogenous contrast agent.
