Investigation of the recognition interaction between glycated hemoglobin and its aptamer by using surface plasmon resonance

Dapeng Sun et al.

Summary: The study found that factors like pH and salt concentration of the solution can greatly affect the formation of a complex between aptamers and HbA1c. The loop L1 structure in the aptamer may be crucial for recognizing glycated hemoglobin, and the optimal detection condition was pH 6.

Aptamer-based ATP-responsive delivery systems for cancer diagnosis and treatment

Elham Sameiyan et al.

Summary: In recent years, many stimuli-triggered drug delivery platforms have been designed to deliver drugs accurately to specific sites and reduce their side effects, improving on-demand therapeutic efficacy. Adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP)-responsive drug delivery methods, combined with aptamers, offer more accurate drug delivery systems and greater control of drug release. Various nanoparticle frameworks have been utilized in the fabrication of nanocarriers for ATP-responsive drug delivery systems, with each method having its own challenges and strengths.

An aptamer biosensor based dual signal amplification system for the detection of salmonella typhimurium

Ao Li et al.

Summary: This study combined immune hybridization chain reaction (HCR) with surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) to achieve high sensitivity detection of Salmonella typhimurium in food, showing good application potential for highly sensitive detection of other contaminants in food. The method successfully captured and detected S. typhimurium in spiked milk samples, demonstrating double amplification of the detection signal and significantly improved detection sensitivity.

Ultra-sensitive and selective electrochemical biosensor with aptamer recognition surface based on polymer quantum dots and C60/MWCNTs-polyethylenimine nanocomposites for analysis of thrombin protein

Hamid Reza Jamei et al.

Summary: An ultra-sensitive and selective Thrombin biosensor based on carbon nanocomposite was developed, with high sensitivity and stability for measuring Thrombin in human blood serum samples. The biosensor showed a low detection limit, large linear range, good reproducibility, great selectivity, low response time, and good stability during storage, making it suitable for bioengineering and biomedicine applications as well as clinical studies.

Aptamers as the powerhouse of dot blot assays

Marimuthu Citartan

Summary: Dot blot assays have traditionally used antibodies as the primary molecular recognition element, but now aptamers can also be utilized. These assays are often used to monitor SELEX progress and assess the potency of aptamer candidates. Efforts to expand aptamer-based dot blot assays for diagnostic purposes are currently slow, suggesting a need for further development.
