Tensile deformation behavior of ferrite-bainite dual-phase pipeline steel

Xingyang Tu et al.

Summary: The study found that heterogeneous deformation facilitated the formation of subregions with crystal orientation deviation within grains, and separated grains by forming new grain boundaries. The PF grains exhibited high orientation stability at high strain levels, and coordination deformation among grains was controlled by strain hardening behavior.

Microstructural Evolution during Homogenization and Hot Deformation for As-Cast H13 Steel

Yahui Han et al.

Summary: The hot compression experiments show that the volume fraction of dynamic recrystallization increases with increasing strain and deformation temperature at a certain homogenization temperature, while it decreases with decreasing strain rate. The experiments also reveal that dynamic recrystallization is more likely to occur at high strain rates.

Effect of Different Austempering Heat Treatments on Corrosion Properties of High Silicon Steel

Mattia Franceschi et al.

Summary: This study focused on the microstructural evolution of high silicon austempered steel and its influence on corrosion properties. Results showed that increasing austenitizing temperatures led to higher volume fractions of retained austenite, thus improving corrosion resistance in the samples.

Isothermal transformation kinetics, microstructure and mechanical properties of a carbide free bainitic steel

Jayanta Mondal et al.

Summary: The study found that a small amount of athermal martensite below the Ms temperature accelerates the bainitic transformation kinetics by providing additional nucleation sites, leading to a two orders of magnitude increase in nucleation rate compared to above Ms treatment. Additionally, below Ms isothermal treatment results in higher stability of austenite and improved ductility compared to above Ms treatment.

Influence of chronological control of transformation on the microstructure and mechanical properties of complex phase steels

Hong-Bum Lee et al.

Summary: The transformation sequence significantly impacts the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of complex phase steel. The presence of carbon-enriched blocky martensite increases the strength of the alloy but decreases the impact toughness, while a uniform lath-type mixture of martensite and bainite can enhance the strength without compromising impact toughness.
