Comparison of the SARS-CoV-2 Rapid antigen test to the real star Sars-CoV-2 RT PCR kit

Alexander Kruettgen et al.

Summary: The study found that the specificity of the SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test is higher than its sensitivity, with high accuracy for samples with a cycle threshold of less than 25. It is suitable for differentiating contagious and non-contagious SARS-CoV-2 patients.

A comparison of five epidemiological models for transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in India

Soumik Purkayastha et al.

Summary: This study examined five epidemiological models to forecast and assess the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Results showed that the SEIR-fansy and eSIR models had the lowest prediction errors for active case counts, while SAPHIRE and SEIR-fansy models performed better for cumulative case counts and death counts. The study also analyzed underreporting factors and uncertainty in projections from each model.

Maintaining Low Prevalence of Schistosoma mansoni: Modeling the Effect of Less Frequent Treatment

Diepreye Ayabina et al.

Summary: This study explores different mass drug administration (MDA) strategies to maintain the goals of controlling morbidity due to schistosomiasis and attaining elimination as a public health problem (EPHP). The findings suggest that in moderate-prevalence settings, less frequent MDAs may be sufficient to maintain the goals, while in high-transmission settings, reducing control efforts after achieving the goals could lead to a high risk of recrudescence.
