A systematic review and meta-analysis of group peer support interventions for people experiencing mental health conditions

Summary: The study showed that group peer support may have small improvements on overall recovery, but has limited impact on hope, empowerment, or clinical symptoms individually. Meta-analyses were only possible for peer support groups and five outcomes, with mixed evidence for outcomes that could not be analyzed.

Acceptability and feasibility of peer-administered group interpersonal therapy for depression for people living with HIV/AIDS-a pilot study in Northwest Ethiopia

Summary: Psychological treatments, specifically group interpersonal therapy, were found to be both feasible and acceptable among people living with HIV/AIDS in Northwest Ethiopia. The intervention resulted in significant reductions in depressive symptoms, improvements in perceived social support, and quality of life for the participants. Future studies are warranted to further examine the effectiveness of group interpersonal therapy in this population.
