N-doped graphite encapsulated metal nanoparticles catalyst for removal of Bisphenol A via activation of peroxymonosulfate: A singlet oxygen-dominated oxidation process

Junjie You et al.

Summary: In this study, a NiZn@N-G-900 catalyst derived from metal-organic frameworks (MOF) was successfully utilized to activate PMS for the degradation of BPA in water. Encapsulation of graphite or N-doped graphite layers can adjust surface charge distribution and enhance charge transfer ability, facilitating PMS adsorption and activation, ultimately improving catalytic performance.

Minute Cu2+ coupling with HCO3- for efficient degradation of acetaminophen via H2O2 activation

Yimin Zhang et al.

Summary: The study showed that the activation of H2O2 with minute Cu2+ and HCO3- could efficiently degrade organic pollutants, with acetaminophen completely eliminated within 10 minutes and the generated ROS facilitating organic degradation. Additionally, the presence of Cu3+ was deduced, and CuCO3 (aq) was identified as the main complex for ROS and Cu3+ formation, contributing to the removal of organic pollutants.

Nitrogen-Coordinated Cobalt Embedded in a Hollow Carbon Polyhedron for Superior Catalytic Oxidation of Organic Contaminants with Peroxymonosulfate

Yaowen Gao et al.

Summary: The NCoHCP catalyst demonstrated superior catalytic oxidation performance towards organic pollutants by decomposing peroxymonosulfate into active species within a short period of time. The formation of Co-pyridinic N moiety in NCoHCP increased the electron density of active sites and provided binding sites for PMS conversion, contributing to the generation of reactive oxygen species for organic pollutant oxidation.
