Enhanced NH3 and H2 gas sensing with H2S gas interference using multilayer SnO2/Pt/WO3 nanofilms

Nguyen Van Toan et al.

Summary: This study fabricated three layers of SnO2/Pt/WO3 nanofilms with different WO3 thicknesses as gas filters to improve the selectivity of sensors towards NH3 and H2S gases. At the optimal WO3 thickness of 140 nm, the gas responses of the sensors to NH3 and H2 gases were slightly lower than those of Pt/SnO2 sensor film, while the gas response to H2S gas was almost negligible. Machine learning algorithms were effectively used for the classification of NH3 and H2 gases.

Holey engineered 2D ZnO-nanosheets architecture for supersensitive ppm level H2 gas detection at room temperature

Manjeet Kumar et al.

Summary: Conquering the challenge of room temperature H-2 detection at ppm/ppb levels is essential for developing highly sensitive/selective sensing devices. By synthesizing 2D ZnO holey nanosheets through controlled oxygen vacancies and annealing, a sensor with improved gas-sensing performance, fast response times, and high stability can be achieved. The unique porous network and large specific surface areas of 2D ZnO holey nanosheets contribute to their superior gas sensing capabilities.

Gas sensing behavior of ZnO toward H2 at temperatures below 300°C and its dependence on humidity and Pt-decoration

I-Kai Cheng et al.

Summary: The sensing reaction mechanism of ZnO towards H-2 was investigated, showing distinct response features at temperatures above 150 degrees C. Humidity affects sensor performance, while Pt decoration greatly improves sensor performance in both dry and humid environments. This improvement is attributed to hydrogen spillover from Pt nanoparticles to the ZnO support.

Influence of the aluminium doping on the physical and gas sensing properties of SnO2 for H2 gas detection

Ausama Khudiar et al.

Summary: By doping SnO2 thin films with different concentrations of Al, it was found that an increase in doping levels led to a decrease in average grain size and an increase in optical band gap. For H-2 gas sensors, the response was optimal at a doping level of 3%, but decreased when the doping concentration was 5%.
