Si grating structure for surface plasmon resonance excitation by back-side normal incidence illumination

Yoshiki Saito et al.

Summary: In this study, a structure suitable for exciting surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with light incident on the back-side of the device was proposed and validated through reflectance measurements. The structure, based on semiconductor fabrication, allows for the elimination of commonly used prism and light receiver in SPR experiments, contributing to the realization of a thin one-chip SPR device.

Low-cost surface plasmon resonance refractive index sensor based on the metal grating in DVD-ROM disc

Wei Su et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a low-cost surface plasmon resonance sensor based on DVD-ROM, which is used to detect different concentrations of solutions through wavelength modulation and angle modulation. Both simulation and experimental results show good agreement in sensitivity between the two methods.

Exploring Plasmonic Resonances Toward Large-Scale Flexible Optical Sensors with Deformation Stability

Anik Kumar Ghosh et al.

Summary: The study focuses on cost-effective strategies for manufacturing sensors on flexible platforms, exploring methods such as mechanical instabilities and oblique-angled metal evaporation to create propagating SPP and localized LSPR sensors. It discusses the production of dielectric grating structures via plasma oxidation of pre-stressed polydimethylsiloxane film, and the formation of metallic lattices through gold vapor deposition at various angles.

Performance enhancement of surface plasmon resonance sensor based on Ag-TiO2-MAPbX3-graphene for the detection of glucose in water

Jabir Hakami et al.

Summary: This paper presents surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors with high sensitivity and performance by optimizing the thicknesses of silver, titanium dioxide, and halide perovskite layers. The proposed sensors exhibit better performance compared to traditional sensors and existing research, showing higher sensitivity, detection accuracy, and quality. The sensitivity of the sensors in biomedical applications has also been investigated, with reported values of 0.0212 deg/gl(-1) for MAPbI(3) and MAPbBr(3) based sensors.

IP-Dip-Based SPR Structure for Refractive Index Sensing of Liquid Analytes

Petra Urbancova et al.

Summary: This paper presents a two-dimensional surface plasmon resonance structure for refractive index sensing, fabricated using direct laser writing lithography in a novel IP-Dip polymer. Experimental results show that a sensitivity of 478-617 nm per refractive index unit can be achieved at an external angle of incidence of 20 degrees.

Tunable and plasmon-enhanced four-wave mixing on an aluminum grating

Jianjun Cao et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates wavelength-tunable and plasmon-enhanced four-wave mixing on an aluminum grating, showing significantly enhanced electromagnetic fields near the grating surface and an increase in 4WM signals by factors of 177 and 42 compared to off resonant conditions. The tunable and enhanced 4WM output from 539 to 600 nm has potential applications in frequency conversion, beam steering, and dispersion control.
