Synergy between the Assembly of Individual PEDOT Chains and Their Interaction with Light

Iryna Ivanko et al.

Summary: A new method for PEDOT synthesis based on acid-assisted polymerization is proposed, exploring the optical and structural properties of the obtained material. The study emphasizes the effect of polar Bronsted acid on the formation of polymer chains and their ability to assemble into nanoobjects. Various spectroscopic techniques confirm the formation of PEDOT in a neutral state, while density functional theory calculations seek a correlation between chain length and optical properties.

Cross-linked polyelectrolyte microspheres: preparation and new insights into electro-surface properties

Natalia Shevchenko et al.

Summary: Polyelectrolyte microspheres synthesized by inverse emulsion polymerization exhibit high surface charge density and specific surface area, with the surface charge density being significantly higher than other methods. The structure of the surface layer of these microspheres can be comprehensively characterized using potentiometric titration, and their ion-exchange capacity is shown to be superior compared to other types of microspheres.
