Quantitative Prediction of the Electro-Mechanical Response in Organic Crystals

Alessandro Landi et al.

Summary: This study presents a new methodology to accurately predict the effects of external deformation on the charge transport properties of organic semiconductors. By investigating three prototypical materials, it was found that there is an order of magnitude difference in the intrinsic electro-mechanical response among organic semiconductors.

Analytical Methods for Detection of Gasotransmitter Hydrogen Sulfide Released from Live Cells

Fu-Shi Quan et al.

Summary: Hydrogen sulfide plays a crucial role in mammals as a signaling molecule, with abnormal concentration linked to various pathophysiological states. Researchers are paying attention to H2S research for its potential in drug development. Developing new methods for accurate detection of H2S within live cells is necessary for understanding its role and potential therapies.

Imidazo-pyridine-based zinc(ii) complexes as fluorescent hydrogen sulfide probes

Maria Strianese et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction of a family of fluorescent zinc complexes with HS-, showing the potential of these complexes to be used as HS-/H2S fluorescent sensors and probes for detecting H2S in living cells. Computational analysis based on TD-DFT was performed to shed light on the species formed in solution and elucidate the photophysical properties of the sensing constructs. Preliminary bio-imaging experiments indicate the promising potential of this class of compounds for H2S detection in living cells.
