Summary: The research modified an in vitro co-culture screening method designed for almond trees by using a more aerated phenolic foam and combining resistant and susceptible rootstocks to reduce variation. Eight Prunus rootstocks were tested, and it was found that this method is applicable for rootstock breeding of various Prunus species.

Summary: The almond tree is a model system for studying epigenetic age-related disorders in perennial plants, with noninfectious bud-failure being associated with clonal age. Research showed that all axillary buds within individual shoots exhibit similar degrees of noninfectious bud-failure, regardless of relative bud position.
