Kinematic Characteristics of Male Runners With a History of Recurrent Calf Muscle Strain Injury

Christopher Bramah et al.

Summary: Male runners with a history of repeat calf muscle strain injuries demonstrate differences in stance phase running kinematics compared to healthy controls, which may contribute to the recurrent nature of this injury. Specifically, increased contralateral pelvic drop and anterior pelvic tilt, longer stance times, and altered hip and pelvis positions were observed in the injury group. Addressing pelvis and hip kinematics in rehabilitation interventions could potentially reduce strain on the calf complex and prove clinically effective.

Assessment of Evertor Strength Following Inferior Extensor Retinaculum Flap Ligamentoplasty in Patients With Chronic Lateral Ankle Instability

Jean-Charles Giunta et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the strength of ankle evertor muscles in patients who underwent lateral ankle ligamentoplasty, with results indicating satisfactory outcomes for treating chronic ankle instability. Good functional scores and muscle strength tests confirmed the effectiveness of the surgery for patient recovery.
