Comparison of contralateral oblique view with the lateral view for fluoroscopic-guided cervical epidural steroid injection: a randomized clinical trial

Ji-Hoon Sim et al.

Summary: The study found that the contralateral oblique (CLO) view is a safer and more effective alternative to the lateral (LAT) view for fluoroscopic-guided cervical epidural steroid injection. The CLO view significantly reduced needling time, increased first-attempt success rate, improved needle tip visualization and location, and required fewer needle passes compared to the LAT view, without significant differences in final success rate, crossover success rate, false-positive/negative loss of resistance, or radiation dose.
