Thermo-electrical performance assessment of a partially submerged floating photovoltaic system

Nabil A. S. Elminshawy et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the performance of a partially submerged photovoltaic (PSPV) system on Egypt's northern lakes. Experimental results show that the PSPV module has lower surface temperatures and higher power gain compared to the traditional land-based photovoltaic (LBPV). Increasing the submerged ratio also reduces the cost per unit of produced electricity.

Proton Ion Irradiation on As40Se50Sb10 Thin Films: Fluence-Dependent Tuning of Linear-Nonlinear Optical Properties for Photonic Applications

Deviprasad Sahoo et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of proton irradiation on the structural, optical, and morphological properties of thermally evaporated As40Se50Sb10 thin films. The results show that proton irradiation leads to changes in absorption edge, optical band gap, and nonlinear optical parameters, demonstrating the tuning capabilities of the films. X-ray diffraction indicates the amorphous nature of the films post-irradiation, and microstructural changes are observed from Raman spectra. The higher values of nonlinear optical parameters with proton irradiation are crucial for advanced photonic applications.

Optimization of linear and nonlinear optical parameters of As40Se50Te10 thin films by thermal annealing

D. Sahoo et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of annealing on the optical properties of As40Se50Te10 thin films, showing an increase in both linear and nonlinear optical constants. Additionally, XPS and Raman spectroscopy revealed a conversion of heteropolar to homopolar bonds. Therefore, annealing temperature can be utilized as a significant tool in controlling the optical constants of these chalcogenide films.

Observation of high nonlinearity in Bi doped BixIn35-xSe65 thin films with annealing

P. Priyadarshini et al.

Summary: The study showed that thermal annealing has a significant impact on the structural and optical properties of BixIn35-xSe65 thin films, leading to the development of crystalline phases at 450 degrees C. The linear and nonlinear characteristics of the films increased greatly after annealing, with the decrease in optical bandgaps attributed to the formation of surface dangling bonds near crystallite sites.

The impact of fluence dependent 120 MeV Ag swift heavy ion irradiation on the changes in structural, electronic, and optical properties of AgInSe2 nano-crystalline thin films for optoelectronic applications

R. Panda et al.

Summary: Swift heavy ion irradiation significantly modifies the structure and properties of thin films, as demonstrated in the study on AgInSe2 nanoparticle thin films irradiated by 120 MeV Ag ions. The irradiation induced amorphization of the structure, changed particle size and distribution, and increased the electronic bandgap of AgInSe2 films. This study shows potential for tailored modifications for optical and electronic applications.
