Preparation of a BTA-UIO-GO nanocomposite to endow coating systems with active inhibition and passive anticorrosion performances

Haidong Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a nanocomposite with both active and passive corrosion protection abilities was synthesized. The nanocomposite utilized a metal organic framework(UIO-66) as a nanocontainer to encapsulate a corrosion inhibitor (BTA) and graphene oxide(GO) as a physical barrier, achieving effective protection for metals. The active protection was achieved through pH-stimulated release of inhibitors from nanocontainers and the formation of passive film (ZrO2) from disintegrated UIO-66 under alkaline conditions, while the passive protection was provided by the excellent barrier property of GO.

The Effects of Functional Groups and Missing Linkers on the Adsorption Capacity of Aromatic Hydrocarbons in UiO-66 Thin Films

Jennifer Shankwitz et al.

Summary: This study measured the adsorption capacity of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene isomers by porous thin films of the metal-organic framework UiO-66-X, revealing the crucial roles of functional groups in the organic linker and missing-linkers. Different trends in the adsorption capacity were observed under various conditions, highlighting the importance of understanding the structural characteristics of MOF thin films for gas adsorption applications.
