A Novel Vegetation Index for Coffee Ripeness Monitoring Using Aerial Imagery

Rodrigo Nogueira Martins et al.

Summary: The use of aerial imagery to develop a coffee ripeness index showed higher sensitivity in discriminating coffee plants ready for harvest, and resulted in more accurate estimations compared to traditional vegetation indices. The study demonstrated that the time-consuming fieldwork could be replaced by this new methodology based on vegetation indices.

High-resolution satellite image to predict peanut maturity variability in commercial fields

Adao Felipe dos Santos et al.

Summary: This study successfully demonstrated the potential of using high-resolution satellite images to estimate peanut maturity and its variability in commercial fields, allowing for more accurate in-season and inversion management strategies. The use of non-destructive methods based on orbital remote sensing can contribute to monitoring the dynamics of maturity progression and enhance precision agriculture practices in peanut production.
