Derivation and validation of a hard-body particle-wall collision model for non-spherical particles of arbitrary shape

Brian Quintero et al.

Summary: In this work, an extended three-dimensional model is developed to describe the wall collisions of arbitrary shaped non-spherical particles, which is validated against experimental results. The model shows good agreement with measurements of linear velocities and rotational velocities from the experiments.

Pressure center determination for regularly shaped non-spherical particles at intermediate Reynolds number range

C. Castang et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the dependence of the non-dimensional center of pressure on the orientation for non-spherical particles of regular shapes. Results show that the center of pressure tends to move upstream with increasing Reynolds number, and exhibits a non-monotonic behavior with respect to aspect ratio.
